Last week we watched Qandace defend some of the best players in the country, and she did very well. We watched her rebound and take care of the ball as well. This week however we watched her show out as an offensive threat. Qandace looked automatic from the court, hitting multiple threes off the dribble drive. She put the ball on the floor, got to the rim and the line. She’s still so young but if she keeps showing this type of production and defensive stability, watch out!
Another highly touted USC commit, that just keeps making Coach Gottlieb look like a top recruiter. Kayleigh is lights out form behind the arc, gets to the basket and finishes in a variety of ways. She can play either guard position with her incredible IQ and court sense. She’s a willing defender and rebounder as well, giving her a very complete game.
This South Carolina commit continues to impress week after week. Her explosion is unbelievable, whether it’s a burst of speed in transition, or a liftoff to the rim that turns heads. She is impossible from stopping from getting into the paint and to the free throw line. She is nasty on defense and has no mercy on anyone. In transition she’s a lightning bolt that you just can stop from getting to the rack.
Deniya again showed why she is one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. The Canadian is a physical specimen who imposes her will on any defender around the rim. Not only is she big and strong but she can hang in the air, adjust shots as needed, and finish with finesse. She shows off a very nice jumper from mid to deep range. Deniya defends and rebound so well and can get the break moving in an instant.
Naia stepped up when her team needed her most. With a few D1 commits on her squad getting much of the attention, she took hold of the moment and shined! She’s a very well-rounded guard that plays with electricity. Her ball skills are nice, she is smooth with the ball, passes both hands and shoots it well. Most impressive is her ability to the get to the paint and find ways to finish over, through or around bigs. She always found a way to make big plays at big moments, a huge reason why her squad could knock off heavy favorite IMG.
Aubrey left Arizona on a whole new level! This young lady took over games. She bounced back from some foul trouble in Game 1, to put on an absolute show against the top team in the country, and never let up the rest of the week. She has this ability to just keep making plays. Whether it’s a jumper, blowing by a defender, or getting to the line, she never stops making plays. She has nice length and uses that effectively to attack off the dribble and finish at the rim. She was playing at such a high level, and everyone in the building took notice, including the top recruits trying to slow her down.
This uncommitted PG is dynamite. Every school that feels like they have a shot is holding their breath and praying to the basketball Gods. Jaloni is just so explosive, in transition and the half court. She gets off the floor so quick and so high, she unguardable for most any other PG. She is always in complete control of the offense, the ball and the pace. She can’t be rushed or flustered. She is an extraordinary shooter, and finisher, adding to her being an unstoppable force.
Have fun stopping this powerhouse! Vivian made her college announcement on live air Thursday, announcing she will be heading to sunny Southern California next year. The power, intensity and motor Viv has is unmatched. She blazes up and down the floor, not taking either end less serious. She destroys the boards and gets so many second chance points and free throws. She never stops working, she works so hard to get great post position and has quick effective moves.
Really impressive combination of size and skill. Can tell she’s probably been a post most of her life, but you can also easily see her knack for perimeter play. This experience allows her to play back to the basket or faced up. She has really polished post moves and uses her strength and leverage very well. She can also step out and stroke the deep ball or put it in the floor. As her guard skills continue to advance, she will keep climbing the rankings!
Agot showed off some very nice scoring moves this week. Everything from a behind the back stepback, to crossovers on the way to the rack. She shot the ball very well, from anywhere on the court. She is smooth in transition and capable of playing multiple positions. With her offensive diversity she turned some heads and will keep doing so if she can continue playing at this level.
