The always reliable future UCONN PG was special at this event. She seemed to take more of a scoring role, getting into the paint repeatedly, not being selfish, but making great decisions. Other times this month when we’ve seen her she was in a passive facilitating type mode. Not in Tampa, she was showing out! Played with lots of passion and helped lead her squad to the title.
Was much more impressed with Lee in Tampa than Arizona, she really took charge and left no doubt. she played fast, and she played physical. She showed a wide array of scoring. She was hitting mid to deep jump shots very consistently, she frequently imposed her will in the paint and got to the foul line quite a bit. Between her and Kori this St. Mary’s team should have a great finish to the season.
A no nonsense tough as nails guard who just gets the job done. She will ruthlessly attack any defender, and have the same intensity on the other end of the floor. She showed an absolutely superb midrange game. She’s very good at getting to her spots, pulling up on a dime and finding nothing but net from anywhere. She is spectacular at getting to the rim and the foul line, where she’s efficient at both.
Jaida is a very athletically gifted player, and you can tell she’s watched a lot of basketball. She is lightning fast, a one woman press breaker and a high-flying scorer. She got face-guarded and double teamed all week and she’s just too fast and too big for it to be effective. Stopping her from getting into the paint is impossible, and she’s a huge problem when she gets there. She skies and finishes like few ladies can do, and can distribute in the air like even fewer can.
